So far, so good. Glad to hear she pooped. I always feel better once they have that first poop after a big event.

Are you using the cone of shame, or maybe a donut like I use? crossedfingers that she leaves the stitches alone.

I use a Comfy Cone for my guys. It does a good job of keeping them away from stitches.

So far, it's been a t-shirt. I'll be keeping an eye on her over the next few hours and see if she needs more attire for the new year.....

I'm not sure what the brand of the inflatable I have is. I do know that I am not going shopping for anything more right now. Maybe Sunday. We'll see. I can check the stores on line in the meantime and see what a Comfy Cone looks like

I just now remembered that I have a couple of K-9 Top Coats that would also be discouraging. I just know better than to think that she'll ignore that incision however tempting it is to think that....

Tomorrow she gets turned loose - so far it's been leash walks...

I wish we were closer, I'd drop off a donut cone. Definitely stay on top of it. I'm so happy she's there with you and healing. Sending lots and lots of good vibes your way!

Val, Thanks for the idea. I have one of those and I even know approximately where it is. (amazing!()

So far we're doing OK with the t-shirt. We're going to hope that her lack of interest in her incision continues.

It does bring to mind the time I had britches on a guy dog -- he had a weird look on his face the time I forgot to take them off when he went outside. I think I may have laughed at the poor guy.

I should probably not say this but... this is the only dog I recall not messing with an incision... Not what I would have expected from a total busy body.

Ah thanks for asking. She's doing fine. No problems with the incision so far - She had disolvable stitches and as far as I can tell, they're gone..

This is a bit of a follow up.
As I understand it pyrometria (I think that's the spelling ) typically presents as lethargy, fever and generally being off. We had none of that and visible swelling was only noted the night before her spay was scheduled. ....
This is not the only condition that I've had experience with that didn't present as I would have expected from the literature although the other one was close. Just not quite what I expected. Luck was with me for catching both conditions before they became fatal.
