You can get B-vitamins and I think some other stuff to give with the SubQs to help get some vitamins into her. It's too bad a feeding tube isn't an option because it sounds like that would make things so much easier.

I understand how tired you are and how traumatic all of this is for you and for your 4 leggeds. Hang in there--you're doing a great job with Indy and she undoubtedly loves you very much.

Thank you Ruth....

Oh, I may have mentioned, the UCD vet brought up a feeding tube, but said she wouldn't choose it for hospice care since I've chosen not to treat Indy since I didn't leave her there for the mri. I'm sure if she were left there, with the drugs that they would (did) pump into her, and the crappy food, she would be dead for sure.

I had been staying away from yogurt, thinking it produced phlegm, but it seems like a good option tonight. She keeps barking (well, her version of a bark) and jerking her head back - scares me.

I think this is closest to myasthenia gravis, or of course, a tick disease. She's been off doxy and that doesn't bode well either.

Worried and/or confused. Of course, the other part of the time he's ticked because he thinks that Indy is going cool places and he has to stay home.

She keeps barking - I so wish she would stop, or I at least knew what she was trying to say. I'm very frustrated - she is so restless and I don't know what she wants.

Chicken broth thumbup

I have flipped back to obstruction. Even if they found it, at this point, I'm not sure she could get through a surgery, everything is declining so rapidly.

It's very hard to sleep, when next to me there is a dog barking non-stop, with no voice. Her heart pumping so loudly it scares me. And I feel wholly inadequate because I'm not completely sure what it means. All her life I have understood her - perhaps my mind doesn't want to go there - we all know how these really long threads end teary

She's gone teary

I almost took her in last night, she was so uncomfortable. Her heart could tolerate all this without her meds.

It was so loud and so fast, I was afraid it was heart failure. I think the fluids and no heart drugs were too much. There was no color whatsoever in her gums when she was so uncomfortable - they were white. I didn't take her in, wasn't sure she would make the trip, and we had had enough of vet offices this last week. .

I just woke up. As she was uncomfortable last night after eating so much chicken soup, I held and rocked her as I kept her in an upright position so that she wouldn't gag. Then I had to sleep, I was so exhausted, it was 5:30 then, 1 and 1/2 hours ago. . I laid next to her - she kept barking now and again, but I hugged her and massaged and did Ttough as I fell asleep. .

The first thing I did when I woke up, was felt relief that she was resting easier. Since she was a pup, I always check her breathing when I wake up, it is so slow. I did the same this morning, and felt my heart stop too as the realization struck me.

I am just now starting to cry, the shock and enormity that my very best girl is no longer with me. I can't fathom the emptiness, how will I bear it? How come when I put my hand to her chest it is no longer moving, there is no give to that wonderful chest of hers - it wasn't supposed to end this way.

I had Max come over and smell, he took a sniff and quickly walked away.

I don't know what to do now, I am lost. I guess I call the vet about cremation. I am not yet ready to give her up. I will NEVER be ready, she is my heart wub
