thank you Shawn, I guess that puts the heart issue back on the table. She has had the heart ultrasound for her dx, but UC Davis said that they will monitor her for CHF via xrays. I guess it makes sense that she can progress into the next phase without showing on her xrays. I'm sorry to hear about your boy.

She salivated a lot while eating breakfast and walking in the yard, gagged some, but now at rest is peaceful (with a bit of drool wub ) she appears able to swallow a lot of the drool, but I wonder if she throws it up because she can't digest it.

From what I read, vestibular can have similar symptoms to a stroke. I am sending Indy all my positive thoughts and I will keep the horse image in my mind today hugging

Thank you bianca, we both appreciate it!

LOL, Joanne, good catch, I'm not sure if it's really a tilt, but they are opening differently than usually, and different than each other. One appears dry, and the other seems like it keeps tearing. She will act like she is blind and not be able to see anything, but I noticed last night, that she was watching all the right things. I think it hurts her to see.

Poor Indy! I hope she feels better soon, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the chiro helps.

The eye thing sounds like vestibular disease. I wonder if she'd be less drooly if you covered the teary eye?

Yeah, Indy probably wouldn't be too appreciative of an eye patch! An early Halloween costume!

Checking in on Miss Indy. Will you ring your regular vet or go directly to the chiro, do you think? I hate when it's real symptoms but the cause is too vague to discern. Hoping that your vet and chiro have ideas, and a treatment plan to help Indy. My first dog had a stroke, and while each is unique, this doesn't sound like a stroke at all. I am so hoping that the symptoms ring a diagnostic bell for your vet, so that Indy can be on her way to feeling and doing well again soon. So glad you have a chiro for her, too!

Patti, I'm glad to hear that this doesn't sound like the stroke that your dog had (I'm sorry for your first dog!), since I'm hoping this is something that can be made better.

I have a choice of three chiros, two of them are just chiros. The one I'm seeing today is also a vet, which I think is an advantage in this! I am going to talk to her about meclizine, I think. My mom takes it, and doesn't react to it - she and Indy are very similar in their sensitivities. Mom always jokes that I saved her life with Indy's diet, way back when laugh

She has such a hard time just getting up to change position to lay down, terrible to watch frown

I'm so sorry, this must be awful for you to watch for your dear Indy! hugging Will you be able possibly to get her in to the chiro who is also a vet? The difficulty standing and walking threw off what I had been thinking-- spider bite. A friend's Golden had the drooling, vomiting slime, even caughing because of the location of the bite (back far in the Golden's throat). Whatever Indy really has going on right now, I am so hoping that the chiro-vet will have ideas for diagnosis. Joanne mentioned that she has the webmaster sling/harness if Indy needs it. How much control has Indy got when you assist-walk her to go potty? REALLY wishing a soon diagnosis and solution for Miss Indy. Please keep updating. Positive thoughts and vibes beaming out to Indy right now!

Lisa, I am so sorry your Indy is going thru a tough time! It's certainly not easy to watch our friends suffer. I HATE illnesses that we can't put our finger on!

Both my mother and I suffer from vertigo. When she has an "attack", she gags and vomits. I fight the barf but I cannot walk or even stand when I have an attack.

Jean posted a link on Toozer's thread about vestibular disease. How old is Indy now?

Lisa, I'm sorry Indy is going through this.

When Luther had kennel cough, Morgan was her usual mother hen self with him and she never caught it. Other than the not wanting to get up and seeming dazed, Indy's symptoms aren't what Luth's were.
