She wouldn't eat for me this morning. I thought maybe it was just the heat, but she won't eat her dinner tonight either. She actually pushed the bowl away with her nose a couple times.
She pooped fine this morning. I took her temp just now and it's normal. Nothing else seems unusual, she just doesn't want to eat. And since she isn't eating, she hasn't had any of her meds today. Daily, she takes her vitamin, her probiotic, a glucosamine supplement, Proin (for urinary incontinence) and rimadyl. Monthly she gets an adequan injection.
She's almost 13 years and 8 months old. Maybe I'm being overly cautious, but at her age, anything "unusual for her" concerns me. My vets office is already closed. If she doesn't eat tomorrow, I'm going to call in the morning and see what my vet thinks.
Any ideas?

I've only tried her usual food today. She eats reduced fat wellness core (soaked in water) with some wellness or Evo canned food as well. If she doesn't eat in the morning, I was going to try something like that, depending on what the vet said.

When Beau would turn her food away we use to give her double boiled rice, boiled chicken, sweet potatoes and a scoop of pumpkin. It seemed to spark an interest and at least we could get some meds in her if needed.

I hope sweet Bailey feels better soon and starts scaring her Momma like that!

you might try a little baby food. That was a real winner with the Barker Sisters when they were feeling off their feed.

Well, Bailey just vomited and so did Jake.

I think I may know what happened. I found two leaves from the walnut tree in Bailey's vomit. We have cut down all these tress in the back yard, but there are still two outside the yard and if the wind is blowing the right direction we can still get some leaves in the back yard. Eating these can make the dogs sick. Bailey and Jake will eat the hackberry leaves with no problem, but they usually don't eat walnut leaves. They spit them out. Bailey is the only one that I let outside with me being there so I may not have seen her eat any leaves.
This is my best guess as to what happened.
I gave Jake a charcoal biscuit and he seems to be feeling fine. That always settles his stomach. Bailey still won't take food of any kind (tried to give her a charcoal biscuit as well), but she is drinking and seems to be fine otherwise. I'll keep a good eye on both of them and if nothing else happens, I'll just see how they are in the morning. I'll decide if I need to call the vet or not.

Do you have any activated charcoal capsules that you could just stick down her throat? That's what I would do is you suspect the leaves.

Is the stomach feeling tense at all?

Any senior refusing food, particularly one on Rimadyl, I would want bloodwork done, if it hasn't been done fairly recently. The walnut stuff is an added insult.

I hope Bailey feels better soon.

Her last full blood work was done June 12. Everything was normal.

Oh good! Then you are probably right about the walnut leaves. If you have any charcoal around, that would be a good thing.
