Dakota very rarely barks. Not a vocal dog at all. When the door bell rings, I've been training her to go to the front door with me and then give her a down command when I arrive to answer the door. We have a home office and I like her to be seen when someone comes to the door. Added security.
The door bell just rang and I didn't hear it. She came down to my office and gave a little bark, then ran back upstairs. I really wondered what was wrong because she does not bark to the front door. My son told me that the door bell rang and the person just left.
What a good smart girl I have!
If this dog does bark for any reason I will be paying attention.
