Oh oh! Looks like I'm in the hot seat! lurking
Well since Middle brought up the subject of fairs ( gosh the fairs are already starting! wow Where did the summer go?) So how about.
Thinking from your dogs or other pets perspective, (can't leave out the kitties and goldfish.)
" If I could go to the fair, I'd like to ....."ride, eat, win, see, do.. you fill in the blank you know your pet best. Let your imagination run as free as your pet would like to. Remember you don't have to go to a fair, you're main focus is what your pet would dream of doing, eating, riding....
I hope you like this idea, if anyone has any ideas to tweak it not twerk it, whistling by all means jump in, we might as well have fun making up a good contest while we are at it.

In fact, since we are on a break, something we could do is pool our thoughts on making up some interesting ideas for future contest. I know in the past when I've won, I've drawn a blank on what to do next. If we had a pool to draw from it might come in handy.

Sandra, I hope you don't mind me copying and pasting your post. I'm kinda thinking its against the rules, but we're all friends here. It's just great info and I didn't want to lose it on the Contest page

Sandra, since you initiated it, why don't you set a theme and an end date? we don't need to declare a winner necessarily, but it would be fun to have a theme & an end date.
(I just finished printing out photos for the county fair - basically to get them seen although it would be neat to get a prize (top one is something around $3!!!) - On line is a lot easier....

Well, I know is if Xerxes could go to a fair he'd want to win the strong man contest with the power of his voice (holy baying!) alone...

That guys a real character

That's what a lady said Sunday around 6am (we were mid-walk; it got up to feels like over 40C, so we went early, around 5:30am).

We were in High Park, which is huge, just down the street from us happily, and cyclists and runners were doing their workouts and Xerxes bayed at a skunk (well, he bayed a bunch, but the first time - the 'skunk incident' (there was no spraying, we did an unplanned sprint, though I'm not even sure the skunk noticed us - surely it heard him!) an older gentleman ahead of us was unappreciative of his singing (it's hardly a peaceful oasis, even at that time of day - I mean, it's sorta Toronto's answer to Central Park, it has quiet times, but it's still in a city). After several times singing an older woman was walking the opposite direction and we stopped to say hi (I am chatty) and she admired him and Agis (Neb stayed home; too far/fast/long a walk for the old guy) and she said about Xerxes 'He's a real character'.

He did manage to scatter a group of malcontents (aka teenagers) when he bayed. Well, one group of them. Another group of teens barely raised an eyebrow. Not that teenage boys in large parks at 5:30am on a weekend can't be there for good reasons, of course...I am just suspiciously middle-aged!

It's true though. He really is.

Well, I guess I'll have to get a picture of them treeing a cat since I don't have chickens come in the yard for them to chase.

For future themes as I was reviewing pictures for the fair, I went looking way back (I'm easily distracted). It might be fun to have an "album" contest - something like one shot a year or every x number of years for those of us with old foggies. Or best shot of 1 y olds or something like that.


Or shots you shouldn't have saved...

I think it is "What would your dogs do if they went to the fair?" Seems like Luc's picture is a perfect entry. And yup, they are all pretty fine so far.

Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry this working two jobs business stinks! I didn't realize I was holding things up. Now it's dark out. I'll have to grab a picture tomorrow.
