She's been loosing weight. If sheps didn't have a great fluffy coat, well, people would be upset with me. Went in for a follow up blood panel - I've monitored yearly since starting Carpovet after changing the pain meds. I did manage to press the appointment so that it was this week instead of next.
Blood work looking good, urinalysis looking good. But her weight was a concern so they did xrays. - they were concerning. No vet in this town has an ultra sound machine so it's another 40 + mile trip BUT I got her in tomorrow. With the results of the ultra sound, we'll decide if surgery & chemo are in the plan. Or not. I figure if I can buy her 6 to 9 months it will be worth the expense. If there's no point, well, there's no point.
I figured with her weight loss it was either a tumor or a kidney issue. From past experience, doggy dialysis is painful for the dog, but they handle chemo very well. I guess I got the best of two rotten choices. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

This really sucks, B.T.E. should live for ever just for having the coolest name. But here in the real world, it just sucks. I'm sorry Middle. I'm praying that what ever the outcome of tomorrow is, it's whats best for her.
Could you please post me a picture of her when she was looking good and healthy. I just can't remember. I've also forgotten her age. hugging I'll be checking to see and hoping for the lesser of two evils for her.

Lousy news. What I kind of remember is that chemo is dogs is for maintenance of life-cure is not a goal-so it's a smaller insult.

We all keep thinking of you both.

Hoping for results today that enable you to come up with the best plan for B.T.E.

Good news is that from the ultra sound and additional xrays it appears localized. So she's up for surgery next week.

This took a chunk of time (and a bit of change) - I opted out of any shopping because it was too hot to leave a dog in the car unless I found shade. We stopped at the other county's fairgrounds for a bit of a walk - mostly because she was farting and I didn't like the fragrance. So all in all a good day.

I guess I can push my luck and hope that this is not malignant too - might as well go for that as wishes ....well, y'kown how they are...

Localized is good! I'm hoping surgery gets it all and that is isn't malignant. We'll all push our luck for that. Go BTE! She's got this!

I'm so glad to hear that the problem is localized and surgery is a viable option. Hope that they can get it all when she has her surgery.

Localized is good news-also good news that they think BTE is strong enough for surgery. So best option again out of many others.

I guess we all have that tightness in the throat as you and BTE go through this.

Surgery is next week. Thanks for the good wishes. Not much more to say - I'm due at our booth at the county fair in a couple of hours so cutting this short.

Well, it is a political booth for the party that's in the VAST minority in this county. Interesting to try to get people to engage, rewarding to have people stop by to say "glad to see you here) Interesting to talk to people in other booths thinking some of it may sink in,

But I have to say my photos got 5 first places and 2 second places. Then I must admit that the competition was pretty lean but I DID get them OUT and visible. First prize is a whopping $3 and second is $2 -- so maybe worth picking up my premium check this year....

The fair had some excellent loom woven products - real impressive. The quilts weren't that outstanding, the big prizewinner's center piece appeared to be a printed panel rather than a pieced bit. That should encourage me, too. My quilts are not much like these quilts. I won't get prizes because I don't give a rat's patoot about fine quilting, exact matching of seams, or other refinements. The way I look at it, all art is autobiographical (yeah except maybe for stuff like weaving) so I may as well revert back to quilting maps - we'll see if any of that happens after I finish my "quick and easy" endeavor.

Lots lots lots to do. and my house is a very challenging, mostly out of hand 3D "Where's Waldo?" Waldo being whatever it is I am looking for at the moment.

So - doggo is acting quite OK. There's some irony here in that at her age, I am happy to awake to the odor of dog crap on the floor in the morning.

I remember when Luc was a floor pooper Middle. Always happy to clean it up. With Teagan, she'd poop herself multiple times a day - long-haired GSD = lots of baths. Poor girl.

Congrats with the photos! Yay! You'll have to share some.

So happy to hear BTE was cleared for surgery and I'll be thinking of both of you this week. I agree you were fortunate to get an appointment so soon. Luck was definitely on your side, maybe you should buy a lottery ticket while you're at it. wink

congrats You got 7 awards, that's wonderful groovy

That reminds me I better start working on Anne's quilt. I think it'll go pretty fast once I get at it. Like Middle, I tend to use common sense more as a guide than fancy patterns.

Good luck on Wednesday to both of you.
