How's the puppy doing? It's time for an update

I'm sorry I've been so lax. Yara seems to grow with each sleep. She's doing well on learning. She's mastered sit. She sits while I get her dinner ready and will sit and take a treat. She was chomping on my hand so we've been working on taking a treat gently. Down is something she still working on but she's getting better. I introduced the leash this week. She is still stubborn at times but with gentle pressure and a treat she will see it my way.
I want to start recall later this week. She is getting into not coming when I call and it worries me. There have been 3 owl attacks on people and dogs lately. The great horned owl is starting to nest and they can be very territorial. I'm always looking up for owls. One if these times I'm gonna trip and ill be seeing stars.
I'm so proud of her. Today I introduced her to one of the people that has a studio in the Harbor Centre where I work. One of the ladies said Yara has Story Book eyes! Not sure what that means but they were both enchanted with her.

It sounds like Yara and you are doing amazingly well. She is catching on quickly albeit a little puppy attitude. Keep up the good work, watch out for those horned owls and when you have a chance we'd love to see a new pic.

That's so cool. There's nothing like having a pup in the house to brighten things up. She sounds like a smart cookie.

So I missed that your valentine arrived! And what a fine valentine she is... Oh yes I remember going out with pup on a string at night until she got much bigger.. Owls were my concern, too. Small dogs and cats out at night are easy targets. Even now with hefty adult dogs, if I hear the owls, the dogs get out in the dark on a string (with me at the other end.)
