So this morning Neb and Agis were interested in underneath of the chest of drawers in the entryway. I looked - just a part from the tank of the toilet that's been there for a few weeks (good housekeeper that I am) and some dust bunnies.

I took them for a walk, they ate, then Neb and Agis got interested in underneath again. I don't know if it was because they just ate, but suddenly they were fighting. I was right there, so I separated them. Lots of blood. I thought Neb was cut, but it was just Agis's blood on Neb. Agis had a puncture on the top of his nose. We got the bleeding stopped, washed the wound as best we could with hibitane/pink soap.

Then I called the e-vet - we thought the puncture was 2-3mm deep, but that was a guess. They said to bring him in.

Got there in 15 minutes, they took him right in. Called me (it's contactless) and said it's superficial, they don't think it needs antibiotics, and can't be sutured. If it were anywhere else on the body they'd be concerned, but nose is okay. We're to continue the hibitane 2x/day for 2-3 days.

They didn't charge us! WOW! Mind you, I'm not sure he saw a vet, or just a vet tech.

And we got home and Neb was like 'AGIS! BUDDY! Where'd you go? So good to see you!'

Of course I forgot my phone in the car, so stuck them all in the second bedroom and went down the parking garage. No noise and no blood, so I think they were fine. I have a collar and leash on Neb that he's dragging (as I am quite certain he started the fight) but they're coexisting peacefully. I hope there's no grudges.

And as soon as I got home I went to sweep underneath the chest of drawers - but Toby, who'd left for work just after Agis and I left - had already done it! We'd already taken away the plumbing stuff.

Neb is very mellow as a general rule, but does not tolerate another dog getting what he sees as HIS food. Toby told me when he swept (he texted me from work, after I posted), he found a piece of kibble.

That must have been a really good piece of kibble!

Great that things have normalized among your dogs. Like everybody-I dread the e-vet. OK the need to see the e-vet.

The crew with the tails really keeps us busy smile

Thanks MJ! Yes, delicious kibble - sheesh.

I had some berries and an apple for breakfast, and had them sit for the strawberry tops, which they did all next to each other and got fed that way, no issues.

Oh yes, the need for the e-vet, the cost of the e-vet. I was really surprised.

That's unbelievable and a pleasant surprise! I bet that doesn't happen too often.

I said it must be because we're good customers, hahaha. I think it's because the doctor didn't do anything.

Ahh kibble! It's often "I may not want to eat it, but don't you get near it!" Maybe a universal thing across species as it seems apparent in humans, too.

Glad all is well, glad the visit was only the emotional charge of getting there. And happy they're back to buddies.

Thanks middle. There seems to be no grudges hell - whew! We know Neb isn't good about food and other dogs (a friend's dog attacked him while we were camping when he sniffed an empty meat container, is why I think) and have fairly effectively managed it. Except for yesterday. The Case of the Mysterious Piece of Kibble!
