Every night my pups get cookies in bed. This usually includes three milk bone biscuits, one half of a dental chew, and one Better than Ears ear. They get it as a handful so no one thing is always on top. But every single night they first eat the Milk bone biscuits, then the dental chew and then the ear. I often wonder why always the same order. I think maybe they are saving the best for last???? I have no idea but I find it interesting. Any thoughts? I have a few times moved the Milk Bone biscuits further away and they still eat them first. In other words, they are stretching out to reach for the Milk Bone biscuits first passing right over the others.

Huh - that is interesting. If it were me, I'd eat my favourite thing first...but an ear? That must be the fave!

My guess would be that the milk bones are the easiest and fastest to chew and swallow, then on to something that takes a bit more effort to chew. But that's just a guess. Don't you wish they could talk so you could get an answer from them?

Jenn, I tend to think they save the best for last, but Johanna has a great point to. Yes, I wish they could tell me why.

Don't you wish they could talk so you could get an answer from them? I'm thinking you might be right. They really tear through those milk bone biscuits quickly. Its interesting though because they have to make these decisions and they always decide the same way.
