Today I was sitting at the computer and thinking 'there's no greater feeling than siting at the table surrounded by my pups on the floor close to me". Isn't it just the best feeling???

Then when we took our nap Sasha snuggled up against my body, Kody using the pillow next to me. These are the usual starting positions for everyone. More times than not, I'm able to fall asleep with his paw in my hand. Again, its just the most amazing feelings ever.

Anyone want to share any special moments you recently shared with your pet?

That's so sweet.

I am not feeling well (bipolar) and today all the boys came into the bedroom with me and napped with me on the bed, curled up against me. Agis sat on the cushion behind me on the couch tonight and lay his head on my arm.

Regular sequence of events:

I throw the ball, Nova brings it to me, throws herself on her back and rolls around, I bend down to pet her tummy, she reaches up to kiss my face. smile

Aren't these wonderful times and wonderful memories? Jenn, it really is touching knowing how much comfort these pups can be and they seem to know when we need that most.

Love Nova's routine, what a sugar baby.

Whether I sit in my recliner or on the couch I can tell Gypsy "Baby Love" and she comes to snuggle with me. Might last only a few seconds or might last a few minutes, but I love my Baby Love.

When we're in the backyard Kody will sit down on Shoshi's Mountain. A special placed named for my Shoshi. But I'll see him there and go sit beside him. Once I sit down he's quick to scoot so that his body is against mine. Then I get a big kiss when I wrap my arm around him. And that's where we enjoy just watching the world go by. Its such a great feeling siting there with one of my best friends ever just taking in life.

There are just so many special times in each day, I just want to embrace them all.

Sasha, she's been funny lately. She's so happy to be outside that she just doesn't stop running. I just love seeing her so happy.

So cute. My pups do this too and I so love it. I always sing 'I've got the whole world in my hands....' when they do this. I've never had German Shepherds as lap dogs, but Kody started it and once Sasha saw it she has to do it too. Silly girl.

One of Ciara's things is to come up to me when almost bedtime and lay her head in my lap. She looks at me with those adoring eyes (I'm sure we all know that look) and wants some petting. Then I tell her it's time for bed and she grabs a toy, trots off to the bedroom, jumps up on the bed and warms up my side of the bed before I come in.

She's also the one that seems to be a package of my other dogs from over the years. She always has to be carrying a toy - which is something my old boy Max did all the time. She plays a game with me of kick the ball in the kitchen - drops her ball and waits for me to try and kick it past her (I rarely win). That always brings back memories of Rica, who invented that game with me. Not that Ciara learned it from her - she died long before we got Ciara. And she's my wood-dog, loves to hang out in the woodshop with me, just like Aodhán did. She makes me feel like I've still got my whole pack in one dog.

I have been enjoying lots of special moments with Abbey lately. She's been loving on us constantly. Yesterday was a one of the rare warm sunny days. While I was working the office space airing out the area and reorganizing, Abbey and Bella and the kids were all outside enjoying the weather. Not once has Abbey tried to wander off. She stayed closed with the boys. Relaxed in the sun. And remained ever focused on her tennis ball, patiently waiting for someone to throw the ball. Sometimes Bella would chase the ball, and Abbey would let her. Not sure why, but maybe Abbey thinks it is funny a cat would be chasing a tennis ball someone throws!

Abbey: 12 years old German Shepherd

Suki: 12 years old grumpy Calico

Bella: Ragdoll. Now living with her best cat friend Ty at an oversized cat condo in Crazy Cat Lady City.

I think I've written before about how sleep times (naps and evenings) we pretty much go through the same ritual. Sasha always tries to get me or Kody's attention. She does this by bouncing and squirming around the bed while making play barks. Before I know it she's licking my face with the sound in the background of her tail wagging against the bed. I give her the attention because I think she's adorable and I'm actually enjoying every moment. I do set some limits and after a few minutes of this I tell her its nap time or whatever.

Right away her attention goes to Kody. She whines and whines, mouth wide open, she really makes a rukus trying to engage him in play. And the pitch of her whining just seems to get louder and louder. Sometimes Kody will mouth at her back for a moment, then I have both of them making noise.

So that's as far as we go each time and I tell them both enough and to go to sleep. They are really good about it and settle quickly after than. Except for this afternoon. I finally got them settled and suddenly Sasha starting chewing on a Nylabone...crunch...crunch...crunch. All I could do was laugh. Somehow she found a way to still keep us awake.

This happens a lot and it happened again today. You know how when your waking up and you can just feel this dog staring at you? Funny, I don't even have to open my eyes to know that Sasha is there staring at me. Without moving any thing else, I slightly open just one eye. Suddenly she tilts her head. Its so cute and its like every time she tilts her head (I know you know that response).

I like to play with her and close my eye again. She'll give a little lunge towards me. Eyes still closed, she comes a little closer and a little closer each time. It's like she's holding back her excitement not for sure I'm awake but so hoping that I am. Finally, I can't hold back smiling any longer and suddenly she's licking my face and howling like crazy. Next thing I know she's jumping everywhere, up and off the bed, up and off the bed and so on and so on..... She does circles on the bed, she's howling and have a grand celebration.

Isn't it amazing. She's that excited that I'm awake. What an amazing friend.

This is the look Abbey gives me sometimes when I wake up. She doesn't sleep on our bed, but at least it's not as creepy as waking up to a kid staring at you. I've had a few frightful wake up calls this way!

A couple times, I have been woken up to her ice-cold nose on my face. Ack!
