I suggested using Forti Flora to someone but now I'm having doubts because of what I read in this article. Opinions, what do you guys think?

I didn't read the entire article but the half that I did read made me think I wouldn't want to give this to my pups. Hope that helps.

I have always been a big proponent of Probiotics and also Prebiotics. Pre feeds the pro and yes the more the merrier. Yes good bacteria crowds out bad bacteria, there is only so much room for any bacteria in the gut, so lots of good will crowd out the bad.

Would I use Forti Flora, NO.

There are better products on the market and many are using selected probiotics that are specific to dogs. Dogs and Humans do not have the same digestive bacteria.

I take Human pre & probiotics daily.

As soon as I saw it's manufactured by Purina Pro Plan now it raised my doubts about the product. Thanks, Val.

I'm late to this (school started back up). I also agree. In general I use human probiotic products for my dogs, but there are some k9 products that are okay. I have had luck with mercola's and pet probiotics - I tried them after some positive reports from this forum.

I've been giving Heidi VetriScience Laboratories Vetri Probiotic BD, Bowel Defense and GI Support Supplement for Dogs for about a year now and it's really helped her. She used to experience nausea and vomiting on a fairly regular basis and she rarely does anymore. Also, it's made her poops firm, which is a godsend since she has been getting more and more poop incontinent these days (she's 14 now). I give her half of what they recommend. I break one tablet in half with her breakfast and the same with her dinner. I wish I would have known about it years ago.
