Jenna, the absolute best mother, the best buddy, the best alpha bitch has gone to her reward. That was last Saturday. She went paralyzed on Friday, I gave her a bunch of pred and called the vet. They told me to continue the pred, and bring her in the next day.

She was there a week earlier for an ear infection. I had her scheduled to flush the ears, and fill with ointment, antibiotics, etc. She was otherwise healthy.

But she was out of my first litter, born in August, nearly 13 years ago. She was just so special. I miss her every day. I see her in her progeny.

Thank you all. Jenna was special. I have so many stories about her. Literally, everyone loved Jenna. Best baby-dog raiser. What will I do without her? Great mind, great personality, what a character, what a fun girl.

I couldn't let her suffer. I had to let her go. It was so hard to do. But she went so easy. No pain.

I miss her, but I see her every day in her daughters and grand daughters, in their looks, in their mannerisms, in their choices. Jenna was such a beauty inside and out. There will never be another.

I looked at Heidi today, the last of the Arwen-daughters, Jenna's full sister. She and Babsy are all that are left of Arwen/Dubya. They will be 12 and 13 in August if they make it. This is going to be a really rough year I am thinking.

Hugs for the pain. It's pretty cool though that you see her in her progeny, it's like Jenna is still around you. I know it hurts, there's a lot of history there to cherish, and that Jenna sparkle in her pup's eyes will sustain you. By an odd coincidence, I had occasion to pupsit my current pup's grammas when they were pups, and I can see them in him, and it always makes me grin. It's the hardest part to let them go, but then there's relief that suffering is over. My condolences!
