We left early this morning for 3hr trip to Sudbury to take my Mom for eye surgery. There were delays and it turned form a 8hr day, into a 14 hr day away from home. All I could think of was how the dogs where waiting at home in the house.
We came home and let them out right away, but poor Loki had diarrhea. So good news. He was kind enough to do it in the basement instead of my hardwood floors. Bad news, the basement floor is unfinished rough cement. So everythiŮg just clings in all the little pivots. Plus he kept walking while pooping. poop He feels really bad I can tell. He is such a proud boy.
I scraped up what I could and swiped it with paper towels. I will have to scrub with a scrub brush but it won't happen tonight. I'm just too exhausted. In the meantime I've sprayed the house with frebreeze but it really stinks.
And my Mom's surgery went great. smile

That does stink! I can tell.

Glad your Mom's surgery went well. Sorry for the delays which undoubtedly had something to do with the "mess."

Sandra-I know what you mean. Once years ago we were unavoidably late and the same thing happened with Mars. After that we put newspaper in that area of the basement-actually the furnace room. Sure enough, he was under pressure a time or two in those years and he went right to the paper.

Thank goodness that with the travel delays, your mother's surgery was successful.

Thanks, my Mom is tired and sore but she is in the healing phase.
Thanks for the suggestion about the papers. I will try that. Loki is one of those dogs that will walk around while doing his business. So it's from one end of the room to the other. Looks like he had about 3 episodes.
I do have some meds for him for diarrhea and I gave him some last night. He slept right through so I think he's good. I gave him two this morning as well and he should be ok. He seemed happier.
Side note, It stunk so bad I went back down and spread wood ash on the messes. It neutralized the smell. thumbup So after work I'll have to use the shop vac before I get the floor scrubbed.

Just checking on Loki today. How's he doing. Poor baby. At this point, I pretty much panic when I've been gone too long what with Eli's condition. If I time things right I can sometimes get four hours away time but that's pushing it.

Glad to hear your Mom's doing well.

I'm sorry I didn't see this Rosa.

Loki is fine. We had him in to the vet for his 6 month physical and blood work the day before. He had the poops then and the vet gave me some meds for it. He had gotten into a small amount of pork fat and it disagreed with him.

We thought he was over the diarrhea when we left and hadn't planned to be away for that long.
We usually leave the back door to the house open for them so they can go in and out of the house if the weather is changeable, and right into the kennel. But we are putting in a garden and a deck out back and had taken the kennel panels down. flowerbasket
The only real harm was too his pride. gsdsit
