I haven't used that one. My pups get Taste of the Wild dry with Merrick canned food. I also mix in chicken and veggies.

Nope. You might run it through Whole Dog Journal's list to see if they've reviewed it. (they put out an annual list of dog food).

Okay thank you, I have another dog food in mind, did anyone use health extensions? Right now I use fromm grain free, I like grains to for rotation, but he doesn't like any of the other fromm's. So I looked at health extensions dog food also. If anyone used this I would appreciate how you like it.

Since no one is answering your question directly, I'll pop in with a bunch of unrelated dog food chat... (yeah, how helpful I can be!!!)

I've been feeding Dr. Gary's Best Breed working dog diet for about 6 years now. They ship it to me. For a while I fed Drs. Foster and Smith and before IAMS sold to the bigger guys, I fed that. (that was long ago as in 15 - 20 years ago) But my first dogs, long before the fuss that we make over dog food started, I fed what was on sale at the grocery that month. Dogs lived to be 15 and 16.

I know my dad feed alpo and dogs lived to 17 yrs old, that was years ago though.
I think the cheap foods were better then. Now so many cheap brands have china ingredients I guess. Well I know a lot of people use pro plan and have great results. I would buy it, but I can't get pass that they use ethoyqin in their food. I guess I am picking not so popular foods. Thanks for the reply.

Just like our food, lol. wink

We all tend to want to feed our animals the "best" food. But what's best for one dog may not be best for another. Good luck with your final decision!

Along those lines and not helping with the OPs question at all -- I was excited to find many prime foods readily available.... And they gave my two runny, frequent stools! So much for that... I do suggest being careful as in at least start with a smaller bag to see how it goes.

I have always been of the opinion that the best food is what the dog does best on. I have had 5 GSD's and tried many foods until I found what was the correct food for that dog. I had 4 GSD's at once and fed three different foods.

My dogs seem to do well on it. I feed "Working Dog" diet. It's not cheap but the company is friendly and willing to deal directly with small orders. One thing that I find handy is the bag it comes in - zip lock nonetheless!

Usually when a known nibbles varies in color, texture, or size, that's a signal that something has changed in the processing. It might even be the contents and that doesn't have to show up on the label for months.

My experience is that some changes in color and/or smell may indicate that it's a bad bag that has been compromised.
