Yeah yoga matts would work well. So would carpet runners.

Glad you got the boy in. While you are out buying yoga matts, get a cheap blow dryer. They work for all sorts of things besides one's hair.

You might, on the other hand, not be doing much shopping this weekend. I had to laugh at the forcast of continued snow here with 2 to 3 inches accumulation. I have 8 or more inches now. I thought that was accumulation???? I think I'm staying home instead of driving to the valley on Saturday.

We're going to be clear and cold (For us cold) highs in the 40's and lows in the 20's for the next few days.
I do hope it finishes drying up out there so there aren't any icy patches on the roads though!!

Barb, just in case you might be interested..Muttluk now has some nice socks for indoors.

They are supposed to as grippy as needed and not twist or fall off easily.

I ordered Buddy a set and should have them Monday of Tuesday. I'll probably test them on Skye, too.

Relatively inexpensive, too.

Here's a link.

Oh thanks Bonnie for the tip!!

Just got Dante home.

Today was really a continuation of the previous appointment without me there so no further imagining was done today.
He no longer got a pain response from the quad muscle but consistently got one in the Lumbar region. As I kind of expected there was nothing on the x-ray to note other than the fact his hips and knees look great.

I take him back on Monday for a Electromyogram (I think that is what it is called, testing nerves down the back legs for response, Dante is more down on his hocks these days not sure if it's related or not or how long it's been that way to be honest) and a Myelogram.

I wub this dog, please let this be something that can be fixed!
Oh and they did not charge me for today

Well, good karma on the bill so I'd take that as a good sign. Wishing Dante the best.

Thinking of you, fingers crossed for Dante. crossedfingers Yoga mats are a great idea, wish I'd thought of that for Sean. Will be anxious to hear about the results from the tests on Monday.

Being down on the hocks is often a response to pain, and also breakdown of some of the structures.

Good luck with the test on monday.

Dante's had a good day today

I slept on the couch last night, had an overwhelming need to be able to touch him at any given moment.

Tonight I can sleep in my bed

Wishing good thoughts for Dante and that answers are found very soon.

I have been away on yet another course and it's late am I'm tired and not thinking clearly but thought I saw you mention a myelogram???

Did I get that right? Have they talked through the myelogram with you? Whilst I don't want to alarm you, they do come with risks and are very hard on the dog. Not sure what options are available to you, but having been through one with Levi, it's not something I would want to repeat again. Happy to give you more info if needed......But I may have read it all wrong...

You did read that right.

I've weighed the options, talked to the vet and to others and this is, at this point, the best next step for Dante.

I know it's risky and for some not great but I've decided that the potential information that will come from it is worth the risks.

smile Thank you for sharing, it's important that we all do that!!

Thought about this more, I'm moving forward with the Myelogram, but could you share what happened for others that may read this at a later time?

Isn't an Electromyogram different from a myelogram? One is an electric nerve conduction test with needles and conductors, which, I think, just tests which nerves are affected and how, and the other involves dye and either an xray or MRI type scan?

ETA: I've heard of a number of dogs that had problems with the myelogram, it's very difficult on a dog. I am not so ure the myogram is very diagnostic - ex had one done for problems with his wrist which basically told him that he had nerve impingement (duh). I'm hoping that this will yield more answers for dante since I don't know a lot about the test and hoping it's more robust than I'm aware of.
