I AM A WRECK!! PLEASE prayers and good thoughts for my Grimm!! He just swallowed a soup spoon! All E vets far from me. No car. Friends asleep at this hour! Vet not open. NO money or credit card at end of month. This was totally unexpected. But my fault! Yes, the spoon went down! BIG soup spoon, metal! Stainless Oneida probably.

Checking what time vet opens. Making calls as I can. I am so stupid to have fed him something on a spoon! PRAYERS and GOOD THOUGHTS needed!

Patti, I am at a loss on what to do right now other than calling a vet. Perhaps an ER vet can advise you over the telephone on what you can do until your vet opens. My prayers and good thoughts are with Grimm and you.

Hoping all is going well for Grimm. I did google and see that it has happened - a lab in MD, owners didn't know, so you are ahead of the game. Good thoughts...

Thank you everyone. Grimm is in surgery. The hours posted at the regular vet were not true, a vet does not come in until an hour later than stated. So, immediately to the emergency vet. I tried to avoid the E vet but too risky to wait.

X-ray shows the spoon is yet in his stomach. Amazingly, at 9am, it was sitting upright, the small end actually even sticking up in the lower end of his esophagus. He is in surgery now at 10:30. They will try to nab it endoscopically. If they cannot do this, they will need to surgically open him up.

I am at a loss. This happened in an eyeblink. Please pray crossedfingersthey can grab and remove endocopically, because it will be safer for my baby Grimm, and less devastating for my very tiny finances.

I'm a sobbing mess right now. teary He's 7, and I still think of him as my Baby.

That's because he is wub

I will hope hard that they can remove the spoon with the endoscope (does that mean through the esophagus?). Mainly thank goodness he is being treated.

Again in the cyber waiting room, take care dear Patti.

They have been having trouble getting the spoon out and finding the spoon. They did just find it now but a sphincter is grabbing it. They will try for 10 - 15 minutes more to get the spoon this way. If they cannot get it, they will have to open him up and do the bigger surgery.

Please pray that they can get this endoscopically. crossedfingers crossedfingers crossedfingersThank you for any and all good thoughts and prayers. My sweet baby. He kissed everyone, and tried to get in the tech's lap when she squatted to say hello to him.
