My puppy was born on 2/13/2014. Until today I had not seen him in person. You ever hear one of those stories about a dog that got lost and traveled 2000 miles to get home? Well, that stuff happened. The other day I was outside overseeing a new privacy fence being built, when out of nowhere, a 12 day old GSD puppy leaps over the fence and lands at my feet. Right away I knew he was mine, because he was wearing 7 gold medals (some must have fell off on his journey). He still had the price tag hanging from his ear with my name and address. I showed him where he would be staying. He tried out his new pad. I laid on my back and let him pat my belly. He owned me. I was his human. I belonged to him. He gave me a nod and a wink, as if to say, I'll see you in 5 weeks, come get me Human. He ran and made a mighty leap over the privacy fence. Making his 600 mile trip back to his Momma and litter. He sent me a picture when he got home to say he made it safe. He was tired.

I hope the little fella lives up to the high expectations of its new owner. He has to be one amazing pup to be wearing 7 gold medals and traveling cross country at such a tender age.
