 That is so sad and heartbreaking. R.I.P Bookah.  Beautiful Chocolate Lab! I hike in the woods with Yukon weekly. This story will be a constant reminder to always be watchful of what he is sniffing or picking at.

Rest in peace Boohka  We've been way out in the bush and have come across piles of moose legs. Some one left it to bait bear. (There are no moose on the island.) So we try to stay aware, but with dogs being dogs, they do get way ahead of us and they can get into things. Who would think of poison.  I knew a guy who used to soak sponges in blood and put them out to bait wolves. The wolves eat the sponges and die slow painful deaths. He in turn died a slow agonizing death from pancreatitis... karma.
