My beautiful, handsome, willful boy was given his wings this morning after dramatically deteriorating since Thursday night.

The speed at which it has happened has left me reeling and overwhelmed.

I will post more later, but for now just wanted to say thank you to everyone who followed us on our journey, offering support and advice when it was needed most.

Life will be less without you in it Kobe.

Aw Marie so sorry to read this about your beautiful boy. Sad for you and sad for him but there is no doubt you both gave it your best shot and thanks to you and your care there was plenty of "special" in his journey!

I didn't think it was possible, but today seems worse then yesterday.

Only putting down three food bowls and not putting his down as I say his name has nearly broken me.

In my experience, with Max, it gets worse before it gets better. Initially there is the shock, and then that wears off, and you are left with reality.

Over time, it will get better. But you two waged such a battle, you were so bonded, it's so hard to learn how to physically separate from that. He will always be your partner though

If you need them, there are two Bach flower essences that may help you through this. I used those, as well as a few other things.

So sorry for your loss

Dont fight your grief - you will lose take time to cry and just sit with the pain - look through photographs of you both together, talk to a supportive friend and be aware that its all part of the process of healing. Although i have actually experienced loss before i had forgotten how physically painful it is - your heart actually does ache, and how all consuming it is as well. Chamsas ashes are now back home and waiting to go back to Ireland where they will be scattered in the woods we loved so much. Ritual is important - create a time once the shock has lifted ehere you can really say goodbye to Kobe - you dont need his ashes but go on his favorite walk or hike and just feel him with you remebering the good times you had together. Thinking of you todayxx
