Oh, absolutely!

Ideally, I'm looking for something about knee high at the whithers, no high maintenance coat. Prefer unvaxed, not speutered or chipped, young pup mid-may. I'm all over the place on breed - thought about a larger whippet, smaller saluki or even smaller airdale, just thinking different. Lol, that's all, not asking for much...I though about border collie, but I think I will not be active enough for many BCs.

I'd like to get past some of this divorce stuff too, so the end of the term would work, and I won't have to worry so much about bad energy, or stretches of long days.

MaxaLisa—I wanted to offer my most heartfelt condolences once again on your loss of Max. He was truly magnificent from what I read and I’m sorry I didn’t get to know him. hugging

I’ve just read you may be interested in entertaining the idea of getting a new pup in the future. I realize I do not know you, so if this is too soon or if I’m out of line, please tell me as I do not mean any disrespect. You have helped us so much in the short time I’ve been a member and we are grateful, just would like to try to do something for you.

I couldn’t imagine any puppy to be more Blessed than to be in your loving home and I’ve heard of a little female pup looking for a home and well, a few other pups including a 5 week old. So, here are the pictures of the little rascals.

When I've had dogs in for ultrasounds and they've done the heart, a couple things have been picked up.

My late Too was born with sub-aortic stenosis and that's how her cardiologists always checked her along with an echocardiogram every so often.

Thank you Shawn, it's been pretty difficult, and now with Bruno, and losses on every forum and list I'm on, such a difficult time.

MSD, thank you for the kind supportive words. I don't think I can do a GSD...

Bianca, I had thought about a greyhound, but too big. I need a more portable dog, knee-highish, give or take a bit either way. A Muppet Dog would be perfect, but they are a rare breed...

After thinking about pups for awhile these past few days, have decided that I just want my old dogs back, I miss them.

I know you aren't ready yet, just keep window shopping the right dog/pup will find you.

Hi Lisa,

The thought of getting a new dog is always exciting but I know your grief is overwhelming and of course you want your old dogs back...it is emotionally complicated, especially with all of the cumulative loss. hugging

Thinking about new dogs is a health diversion from the pain. And of course I'm voting for a shelter or rescue pup for you.
I remember after what I went through with Massie I said I'd never knowingly adopt another dog with HD or digestive issues or this or that (she had just about everything) but then I did all of those things, figuring the dog needed a good home with someone who would know how to take care of him. smile

You'll know when the time is right and you'll also know when you find the right dog. When I saw Rafi's picture I was so taken by his face that I didn't care at all when I found out that he had some health issues. He has brought so much joy into my life...his health issues seem like nothing when I think about how much happiness he brings me (and all of his fans out in the world).

Hang in there! I hope you have a good weekend and do some nice things for yourself.

Lisa, it makes me happy that you can think about getting another in the near future. It will help heal your heart and I absolutely know that's what Indy and Max would want for you.

We all know of a very, very cute one just a plane ride away... wink

My guess is that you can spend a lot of time thinking about this, but one is going to come into your life when you least expect it - and probably not at all a breed that you've been thinking about. I love Ruth's story that the minute she saw Rafi, that was it. I think when you find "the one", breed won't matter, size won't matter, and coat won't matter - all that will matter is that you have connected with him/her. I would love it if mine had low maintenance coats, but I always get these hairy beasts. I thought Murphy's coat was difficult, but Annie's is waaaaayyyyy harder to care for. But what the heck - it's just another ton or two of dog hair in my house! crazy

Hope you have a good weekend. hugging Wish you were here, you could go to a chili cookoff tomorrow with me at a local no kill shelter. My sister is entering her chili - good grief, you'd think she was going on the Food Network she's so excited! It's a great cause and hope to see some pups get adopted.

Stopping by to see how you are doing this weekend. Did you make any plans to help you stay busy or are you catching up on some rest?

And you know ..... I want my late dogs back too. I am so glad I have such wonderful memories of each of them.
