The slow kill method is supposed to be easier on them. Maybe talk to your vet about that rather than the HD route.

So even to your exacting standards you've built her up. If she would ever have a chance to take treatment it's now..in your hands with your supervision.

She'll do it for you and for her newly found pride.

take care,
MJ

Jean I wish when I get old I could come and live with you for great care. Mila, will be able to handle treatment because of the great care you have given her, she looks years younger than she did when she first came by you.

Thanks everyone - I stayed in denial all month and liked that, but realize that she does need to have her treatment. I have been trying to work on her being crated and quiet. The quiet part is not easy because she is bossy and likes to tell me and the other dogs what to do. We may try a little Xanax with her because the Rescue Remedy and Benadryl (enough that I would be totaled for the day!) did not work. I am going to try to get one this week to try it out and hope to start her tx next week.

She had her x-ray and that looks good. She is probably stage 1 so that's awesome. She's such a good friend kind of dog. Like that's what motivates her - being someone's best friend.

I am going to blog her treatment. I have 2 objectives, described in the blog. In with blogs about Mila I'll put info in on prevention, costs, etc. Links and things. I know the font is a little different, but I was looking for something more fun. I hope people won't get turned off by it. Feel free to share it with people. We are hoping to get some followers. smile

I am going to blog about Mila's treatment on a week delay to be safe. KW. I will try to update here though.

Thanks Leah!

We are trying xanax now. It is making her slightly goofy relaxed, but still bossy. And it's the bossy that's making me nervous because she's trying to get things done from in her crate. Like getting everyone fed, and pottied - she literally has taken this on as her job. I have to say she is one of the most loveable but frustrating because I am not problem solving correctly (so yes, she is smarter than me) fosters in a long time! I just LOVE her and normally it wouldn't matter, but with the treatment we want her stoned. Hmmm?

I am going to try her in a bedroom too. We shall see!

Kinda cool - there is someone from the Bark following the blog. smile (and a sweet little senior lady GSD too I see - who we are a HUGE fan of!)

I think I'm gonna wanna see this show! http://www.thebark.com/content/%E2%80%9Cwilfred%E2%80%9D%E2%80%94if-dogs-could-talk

Jean, did you watch Wilfred? I've only watched one episode so far. It's cute, but not as funny as I was expecting.

I watched it! It was...a little creepy. I was expecting funnier. I liked the darkness of it, but it was definitely different! Then I watched Louis CK's show and I was like should I have cried at two comedies tonight?

We just had our FIFTH dog diagnosed with heartworm today. frown He tested negative when he came up from the south, but they were lurking, just like with Mila. He has Mega-e - GSDTrain knows him well.

Let me know if you have any feedback for the blog - trying to keep it simple but still inform people.
