I thought I would start up this thread so people can post pictures of what their dogs are eating and explain what it is. Hopefully this will help newbies out with having pictures to go along with the words on what they can buy for their dogs.

Cute idea. I'll try to remember to take pictures over the next few days to add to the thread.

I love the cake. The rest kind of turned my stomach, but it's a great idea and glad your dogs do so well on it. I'm glad Siena doesn't do raw... I have a hard time handling it, so that would be bad (but I'm ok if someone else cooks it, I'll eat it!)

That's quite the BD cake! Very imaginative smile It's nice that your dogs eat together like that. Mine eat side by side and never had a problem but never tried the sharing thing. Don't think Nissa would share, she'd wait and prolly for nothing cuz I don't think Riley would leave her even a scribble <g>

Here's a picture of Oscar's custom-formulated diet from Monica Segal...the picture below is 1/2 of his daily intake.

A nice blend of ground sirloin, chicken breast, sweet potatoes, turnip, pumpkin, carrot (all cooked) and various supplements added in. YUM!

Risa's currently eating both raw and homecooked. Fifty percent of her diet is Straight Answers beef formula (beef meat, beef heart, beef kidney, beef bone, beef liver) since she can't eat poultry any more and I have no other way to get her bone without resorting to a premade. The other half is a homecooked diet prescribed by her TCVM vet consisting of pumpkin (or squash), celery, dates, poria, beef, and some black pepper. She still gets 4 oz of liver and 4 oz of kidney every other week.

I forgot to photograph Vala's breakfast. This is the breakfast for the other 4 though it might vary in size. 1 chicken back.

Vala's dinner. 2 chicken backs and 1 whole lamb heart.

Everyone else's dinner. 1 chicken back and piece of beef heart. The size of each depends on the dog.

For some reason I can't seem to take clear close up shots. frown

Vala's breakfast. Pork neck and lamb heart. She eats more because she is nursing puppies.

Vala eating her pork neck.

Everyone else's breakfast. This was a small pork neck for Deja who gains weight on air.

Nike's egg mixture. Since I eat a lot of whites, every 5 days the dogs get a mixture of egg yolks, organic yogurt and fish oil. I have to dissolve the fish oil capsules in water so that is why this looks so wet.

And my breakfast. Egg white omelet with mushrooms, fat free cheese, onions, flax seed plus a high fiber English muffin with fat free strawberry cream cheese. smile

Neat idea for a thread. That "cake" is pretty nifty. I'm just glad none of the dogs were peeking at the computer screen when that photo came up. wink

Here's a few shots I snapped this week for the thread.

Breakfast 1
Chicken leg quarters and a some ground beef and organ mix (50% MM, 50% various OM) we get from a butcher. Nara's leg quarters get ground, bone and all, since after having most of her teeth pulled last year she can't chew up her own bones anymore.

Dinner 1
Boneless pork loin and beef kidney. Photos taken before I added all the supplements and poured water on top to make the Nupro gravy.

Breakfast 2
Chicken leg quarters (ground for Nara of course) and egg.

Dinner 2
Boneless beef, canned mackerel and fruit/veggie mush. (Plus supplements added later.)

Breakfast 3
Chicken leg quarters and yogurt.

Dinner 3
Ground venison and beef tripe (frozen, not canned).

Next day, no photos, was chicken leg quarters again for breakfast and 1 lb or so of the ground beef MM/OM mix for dinner
