Thanks, everyone. We appreciate the good wishes and prayers. So far, so good. I just got off the phone with the doc and he said everything went well and she is out of recovery and "out like a log" (the assistant said she would be seeing pink elephants today from the good pain meds). He indicated she did well under anesthesia and the surgery itself went off exactly as planned. He said sometimes they get in and have to slightly modify the plan, but in her case, it was exactly what they expected to do. I call back between 4 and 6PM tonight for another update (earlier if I need any reassurance).

He recommended that we do not visit tonight (boo hoo) because although the visit is great for the dog, it's leaving the dog that they tend to struggle with. We wondered if we stayed til she fell asleep if that mattered, but agreed to listen to the doc.

I'm working from home today and boy does it feel lonely in this house without her.

I visited her on the same day of her surgery, in the late afternoon/early evening. I did the same when she had her knee surgery. She was a dog who was extremely attached to me and I wanted to see her to be sure she was ok and also to let her know that I hadn't abandoned her. smile

The doctor said things are looking good for Siena. I'm relieved. Her xrays are good and she is resting comfortably. We will get the next 'official' pupdate in the morning, but I will check again before I go to bed. Thanks for everyone's well wishes.
