I'm really not sure where to post this (move if not appropriate, please).

I want to donate to a credible organization that will assist with the animals injured, lost, etc. in Japan. I see many, many, many organizations, but I want one that isn't going to capitalize on the tragedy and use the money elsewhere.

Does anyone know a couple of organizations I can look into to help me determine which one I should donate to?

I donated to this one and have been following them on FB: https://www.examiner.com/dogs-in-national/japan-earthquake-animal-rescue-and-support

Also, World Vets is on the ground in Japan and they are definitely credible: http://www.worldvets.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=203

I'll have to check out those links.

There are some pet pics here of folks in a shelter with there pets, all of them endearing, I thought particularly the ones with the chopsticks. The last two made me cry. Unfortunately, they didn't give the original link:

The first link posted this on their FB page:

A sad reality: Japanese animal holding centres in and around the disaster areas have announced in this bulletin that all pets who are not claimed within 72 hours will be 'disposed' of (gassed). This is the sad reality in Japan unfortunately and why we are truly racing against the clock now.
