Hi, Iím not so good with the words, but my heart goes out to you and if I could Iíd give you both a BIG HUG. OK Iíve been reading a bit for my own reason about MRSA and here is just one article (dangers of mrsa for pets) from Dr. Karen Becker where she says:

other things to help reduce bacterial growth, including oregano oil, propolis, and olive leaf extract. also uses essential oils, colloidal silver, Manuka honey, and Pavia cream to naturally treat MRSA.

Also, in another article (Real Story Bubba) from Dr. Becker she talks about treating a skin issue and her protocol was they stopped vaccinating and started an immune support supplement, along with disinfecting baths and anti-fungals, this product contains oregano, not sure if it is the same as mentioned in the above post.

I donít know if ANY of this could be of help to you, I sure wish it was or that I knew a way to make it better for her and you.

Iím keeping you in my prayers.
Be well

Hugs to you and Chey today. I think about you both daily just from looking at my Cain. He seems to be dragging his back toes more when he walks now. We need to find a miracle formula to keep our dogs with us as long as we are alive. smile
You are a wonderful Mom for Chey and she knows how much you have done for her.
Keep the faith and my prayers are with you.

I don't know...I think I'm spinning my wheels for nothing. Today I noticed a large bedsore/pressure sore on her hip. I put antibiotic creme on it...still haven't figured out how to bandage it. I cringe every time she falls. I have her laying on her other side right now...and I have to say...her trip out today did her in...she doesn't even want to pick up her head. I think we're just about at the end here. I'm trying so hard...but every day...it's something new...and I'm overwhelmed...and maybe it's just that time. Every time I feel like I should take her to the vet...I see a spark in her eyes...and back off. I wish she would just not wake up. I wish she wasn't so strong. I wish I had a clearer sense of when it's the right time. I never had to do this before. I appreciate the thoughts and prayers for her. Thank you!

hugging It's ok to let her go--it's the one last gift you can give her. It's so hard to get your head around when you've been fighting so hard for
her. Honestly, my experience has never been so incredibly clear like people say it will be but I could just feel in my heart that they were ready. Wishing you clarity and peace with your decision and sending you lots of warm, supporting thoughts.

I wish I had some words of wisdom or guidance for you. The thing is it is going to hurt to let her go, it is going to hurt if she dies in her sleep. But the sad wonderful part is the reason it hurts is because you love her so much. Your love has given her a life that was a miracle.

Hold on to the great times that you were able to give her. Cheyenne will always be in your heart.

I sit here crying as I write this, but it really sounds like it might be time to let her go. You have given her so much more than most dogs would ever get in her condition. I cannot even begin to imagine what you are going through b/c I have not had to go through this yet. Maybe that's why it is easier for others to see that you have done everything in your power to help her, but maybe it's time to let her rest. She has fought a good fight and so have you. She has become a part of so many of our lives and its going to hurt like hell to let her go. We all support you in whatever you do because you know her best. grouphug

I am typing this through tears flowing. My heart is breaking for you. I do know what you are going through. I have had to put 3 dogs to sleep and have had several that died in their sleep. Any way you lose them, it hurts so bad. With Tisha, GSD, she was 14yr. old. I could see in her eyes she was tired and was ready to go. I begged Jaxx, GSD, and Maggie, schnauzer, to just go to sleep and I would see them at the bridge. But they hung on until I had to do the same with them. Tyson and Sammy were gone when we got in the am. Mary Ann, it is such a hard decision and we all know your pain, but you will know when it's time. You have fought so hard for her for many years and have given her more love than anyone else ever could. Any time I have had to let one go, I will say, I am never doing that again. But the next time, when I couldn't bear to see them in pain, I did it again...I would have to for their sake. Our love for them is so tremendous that we don't want them to leave. I will be praying for you at this most difficult time. Love you, Linda & Cain

This is never easy. Sometimes seeing that spark in their eyes... brings an understanding that letting them "go out on top" is an added bonus in our gift of kindness to them. She is so lucky to have had you by her side. I am sending you strength vibes. hugging

Thank you.
Patti...I hadn't thought of that.

I had a friend over...she thinks this might be an abscess...I'm not sure. In any event...it's disturbing. I won't describe my day...it was difficult.
My friend did bring over some egg crate bedding...and we made her a very soft bed...she seems very comfortable right now...and she ate and of course bounced back and is alert. So every time I decide its time.. I second guess it.
I think I should make an appt. and take her in to see what the vet says...with no clear decision either way. Maybe he can guide me............
but I have a real hard time making that call.........I'm afraid....I feel like I would be betraying her trust.

You are not betraying her trust. Dogs do not fear death like we do. It is a natural cycle of life and we are all part of that cycle. It is always our human brains that get in the way.

I will just say one more thing: I know so many people who say they waited too long but have never heard anyone say they erred on the other side. hugging

Friends caan be well-meaning, but here is the bottom line...

What quality of life does she have now? A twinkle in the eye one small portion of the day? Or most of the day? There is a difference.

Do you have a plan and is she getting better? Or are you stalling hugging

Dogs feel the need to stay sometimes because we ask them too, and so they do, even if it isn't what they might choose for themselves. That's when we have to be strong and think of whaat is most fair and best for them.

I do not know the specifics of what is going on with Chey, but I think a vet conult will help you with this.
