You have my biggest thoughts and prayers coming at you both. Mary Ann, it seems like I've been holding my breath for years. You have done such an awesome job with her and she has had an opportunity to experience love that she never would have without you. When the time comes, just know that you have gone above and beyond to give her everything she has needed. I know that is going to be hard for you to accept, and just know we are all here to help you get through it. Call me if you ever want to talk. Hang in there and hugs to you both. grouphug

Mary Ann, Miracle Worker, Miss Cheyenne knows what you and your family did for her. Please take comfort in the love you all enjoyed these years.

Miss Chey, you remain a beauty.

Mary Ann I will send both you and Cheyenne my best thoughts. You have given Cheyenne much much more than a lot of people expected. She rallied so well under you and your families love and care. So times love and caring isn't enough, so times the gas tank on our beloved ones just runs out and we can't seem to get any more in there for them to run on. Cheyenne and you can only do so much.

Hugs to Cheyenne, you and your family.

It's so sad and so hard to determine when to 'end' it all. I'm with you though. As long as she can still get up at all, even with your help, I'd keep her around me, wouldn't want to let her go.

Love to the two of you. *rueful smile*

Thank you for all your kind words and support...it is truly truly appreciated and needed! Yes...it's very difficult to know when...and I keep hoping for one last miracle. She has so many issues...any one of them alone...extremely difficult...combined...they are just overwhelming. Yet..she keeps on fighting...and so as long as I see that in her..I'll keep fighting with her.

Please also pray for me...I have so many other stresses in my life right now...that this is even more difficult to deal with..with all the patience she deserves. Sometimes...after having scrubbed poop so many times...I lose my patience and start venting...I can't do this...I can't take it....then I realize...poor little thing..she can hear me. I don't want to blow all these years and have her think I'm mad at her. I have to catch myself...take a deep breath...and hug her. Trust me...I'm no miracle worker..she's the miracle dog....I am just struggling to give her everything she deserves and be there for her.

I'm sure the girls in my vet's office just want to hide when they see me coming...every time I'm there to pick something up...I have a melt down.

ok...enough of that...

so I have picked up a diuretic...because I noticed swelling and some stressed breathing. As much as I hate to...I have also lowered her pain med dosage to see if that is contributing somehow to her breathing issue. The vet also gave me a new antibiotic for her skin because the clindamyocin did nothing for her. Her skin issue is out of control. Her groin area is just one big open bleeding mass of sores. I've never seen anything like it. The new antibiotic is only for 7 days...so I'm a little nervous to start it...It must be pretty powerful...and I worry about her tolerating it. (I'll post the name tomorrow...I believe it starts with a Z) Then...we have the hips. She walks very little anymore. I can eventually get her up and walking a bit. The weather has finally broken...I'm thinking of trying short walks (I'll have to have someone carry her up and down the stairs for me)...right now...she just walks a little around the house and deck. My hopes are that short walks might be good for her...as tempting as it is to let her lay around all day...I'm wondering if they will help? thoughts?
