Checking in on Mary Ann and sweet Miss Cheyenne. Sending strong, powerful vibes for wellness for Chey. I'll be keeping her in my positive thoughts and prayers. Here's hoping that this is a minor glitch and that the vet can formulate an easy treatment plan to set Cheyenne back to feeling better with her tummy and her breathing. More positive vibes flowing out for Cheyenne!

Mary Ann,

Joining the harmony of good vibes I send you all every possible good wish.

I'll be off-line for a few hours but I do look forward to hearing from you what the vet had to say about the beloved Cheyenne.

Severe pneumonia. He's leaning towards aspiration being the cause...but no way to definitely know. It's very serious and he's not sure she will pull through. We are treating very aggressively

Mary Ann,

Thinking of Cheyenne and your family at this time. She's got many angels watching over who pulled her through many times. May that continue.

Mary Ann - was the surgeon called or just your regular vet? Let me know - remember Dylan (granted younger - but bad) - I am glad to see hitting it hard - that is the only way.

Do they think she would benefit from oxygen?

Is there a difference in tx from aspiration or regular - can anyone tell us that?

Anyone that can do some Reiki here?

Mary Ann, beaming all I have for positive vibes, Reiki, healing energy-- everything-- for sweet Cheyenne. May the meds kick butt on these germs and clobber this infection quicker than we expect.

I took her in to see my regular vet. He was very concerned with what he was hearing..so he took an x-ray...and it was very bad. Basically all white where the black should be for the lung fields. She only had one tiny patch of black. They gave her fluids (she was dehydrated and not drinking at all today)...and a shot (maybe diuretic?) I'm sorry...I have a 102 fever so I was kinda delerious down there. I know he said something about a tough balancing act between hydrating her and getting the fluid out of her lungs. She still won't eat...and he doesn't care...he wants her on complete rest...and all he wants is for her to start drinking. If not...we had to go back in the morning and repeat the fluids/shot again. We were also given two diff meds...Cefpodoxime 200 mg. (antibiotic) and Orbax 68 mg. (I'm not sure what that is)

She's home with me.
Try giving meds to a dog with no appetite..so she won't take willingly... that has a clench like a gator! My husband finally got them in and we kept seeing them reappear. After rubbing her neck forever...checking her gums...etc.. She's a professional.
