I'm hoping too it's just a lipoma. Murphy had one for years and years. It was no big deal and we just left it alone. It was detached just like Chey's.

you guys are just so wonderful...truly!

The news wasn't what I was hoping to hear. It's definitely a mammary tumor. Not a recurrence of the old one...it's a new one in a new location. He said each tumor is it's own entity...so basically it could be benign, malignant...even a different type of malignancy from the other one. It's about the size of a marble. He did say that is a good time to find a tumor...as if it's a malignant spready type...any larger than that...even the size of a grape...it's spread already.
Lots to discuss, figure out and hash out and pray over. Any questions..please ask as I hope her story helps others.
and yes...I am just devastated frown
Please keep her in your prayers

I am so sorry. hugging Not the news we wanted for Cheyenne! I want to think that this is benign, or a slower, less pushy form altogether. I am sending my best vibes for strength to you,as we already know Cheyenne herself is probably not too worried about this. She is one amazing dog. SZending positive vibes to both her and you, as you consider and think things through. You are not alone. grouphug

Ssshhhoot Not want we wanted to hear.

MaryAnn I have some questions?

I know that she has had some breathing problems in the past, how has she been lately?

How has her health - stamina overall been recently?

Did the Vet say how extensive he felt the surgery would be?

We know she is a fighter, do you think she has enough fight in her for another round of surgery?

I know I am asking all these questions, if you don't want to answer in public you can PM me.

With Lakota I knew he wasn't up to the fight and it was probable that he only had a very short time even with treatment. So I felt is was better for him to go be with DeeDee. Sorry I am being depressing. Slap me for that. I think at times dogs only have so much gas in the tank to fight things and we as humans want them to have more.

I am going to send some really good vibes to both you and Cheyenne. You know I am hoping for the best with Cheyenne. My tough girl Cheyenne says she is sending some good vibes to your Cheyenne. The Chey Chey girls have to stick together.

My old girl at around 14yo had one slightly smaller that what you have described and it was removed along with the teat with no recurrence - from memory, because it was caught early it was easily removed (ie not such a major surgery). Best wishes.
