Just checking in to let everyone know that Cheyenne continues to do AWESOME! I have to check with Southern Cross for the exact date...but we are near her 2 YEAR mark since being pulled from the shelter...2 YEARS! Who would have ever imagined...I have all of her wonderful friends to thank for that! So...THANK YOU smile

We are so very blessed to have Cheyenne in our lives. She has given us so much...unconditional love and friendship....and an unexpected bonus....harmoney in our home...lol. This picture would have never happened before we got Cheyenne. But grandma has worked very hard to make sure that there is peace...lol.

Mary Ann,

I'm so glad to see everybody (OK, the ones with four legs). Your family truly gave Cheyenne new life, updates are so very welcome. She really looks amazingly well.

thanks,
Mary Jane

Two years of Chey in your home - learning to trust, playing with your kids and now creating harmony among the critters.

Good job, Cheyenne. You and your family are a perfect combination.

Thank you for the update on Cheyenne. One of my Cheyenne's nicknames is "large and in charge". So maybe it is something with the name, behave or.......

Mary Ann--

Thank you so much to you and your wonderful family for all you have done for Cheyenne.

Thank you also for including everyone on Cheyenne's journey with beautiful pictures and updates.

I'm sending you many "cyberhugs" and my dog Kukla sends many enthusiastic tail wags and kisses!

Lots of love from your friends in Chicago!

I found a lump on cheyenne...right next to her nipple....maybe the size of a small grape. I can pull her skin away and actually feel that it is not attached to anything...
Please don't let it be cancer! Would cancerous tumor be attached? The area is scarey to me though.
calling vet for appt. tomorrow.

Mammary gland tumors are diagnosed in dogs upon physical examination. Benign tumors usually are unattached to the surrounding structures and freely movable. Tumors that are attached or "fixed" to the body wall or adherent to the skin are more likely to be cancerous. Chest radiographs (X-rays) may be performed to determine if the tumors have spread to the lungs (lung metastasis).

What is a benign mammary tumor?
This is any tumor originating from the mammary gland tissues. Most tumors of this type are cured by total surgical removal but a few progress to malignancy in time and start to spread to other parts of the body (metastasis). A dog may have multiple tumors in different mammary glands.

OH NO...not again

Chama had several of those, right in that area. One was removed and biopsied and was benign. The others weren't removed and grew but never got very big. My vet didn't recommend removing them in older dogs. Hope this is what's going on with Cheyenne! hugging

I like what you found googling - it certainly is not like..what she had before that was so big. Let's hope. Because they removed the estrogen production source...knock wood.

Been a loooong time without pictures! Good chilly day for a snuggie!
