We had one hot day with high humidity...and she really struggled with her breathing. Wondering what the summer will bring...

One day at a time...thank you for thinking of her! smile

Despite air conditioning, Wolf slows down when it's hot-but his immobility allows us to point a box fan right on his favorite rug where he's stretched out. Maybe the moving air will help Miss Chey?

It's great to hear from you,
MJ

Hi Mary Ann, Glad to hear that Cheyenne is holding stable. That is a good thing. I still believe that her lungs are compromised in some way. When the air get heavier it is harder for her to get enough in her lungs.

Don't feel bad but hot humid days I have 4 dogs that I have to pry out of the A/C house, well 3 DeeDee will go out and lay in the direct sun when it is 90 degrees out.

i think of her every day mary ann, your beautiful card hangs on my fridge! cheyenne is a very lucky girl...the stars aligned for her right from the beginning and things have just continued to get better. the expectation for short-term hospice care has morphed into two years...every day is an unexpected gift, i am in awe of her resilience, stamina...and of your family's care and love. bless her heart (again), and your's, and many, many blessings to southern cross and molly, out there in the trenches daily making a difference in the lives of so many sheppies.

Hey Mary Ann, how is that sweet baby Chey doing? Cain asked me to find out smile

Cain has fallen a couple of times in the house for no apparent reason. He was just walking around the kitchen table and his back legs went out and he fell. He got right back up though. I sure hope that arthritus in his back isn't acting up again.

Hope all of your crew are doing good. Talk to ya later

If PA will have the same weekend weather as downstate NY, I hope Miss Chey finds a cool spot to enjoy the holiday.

Breathe easy sweet girl,

awww...Cain...I know how you feel...I stumble or lose my balance when I'm bumped or if that crazy Ava runs into me. No biggie...we're in the prime of our life smile Love ya! Cheyenne

So...we just got through the wettest spring in our history...lots of thunderstorms and found out that Cheyenne is THE biggest baby...worse than Ava! She literally has to sit in my lap or...yikes...jump on top of me in the middle of the night and scare me to death! Now..we've been hit (with a jolt..no time to acclimate) with really hot weather. She doesn't do too well..so we've set up fans for her...which have really helped. I also have meds as last resort...just holding out for now and taking it day by day. Off to the lake tomorrow...CAN YOU BELIEVE? 2ND SUMMER AT THE LAKE!!

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND EVERYONE smile

Hi everyone...Cheyenne is still doing fabulous! Two very cute stories about this sweet girl!!

My daughter had one of her friends over the other day. She pulled a stuffed GSD puppy out of her backpack and Cheyenne went crazy! I had the stuffed animal on my lap...and Cheyenne kept jumping up on me (not her style at all)...wimpering...kissing the puppy. It was sooo adorable!

My husband had the kids swimming off the boat. Cheyenne kept crying running from one side of the boat to the other looking for her kids. When it came time to pull the kids back into the boat..as my husband was lifting them in...Cheyenne was grabbing onto their clothes as well and helping to pull them onto the boat.

Such a momma!

I think that's because her kids have loved her and cared for her from the day you brought her home.

Thanks so much for the update,
I missed Miss Cheyenne,

Mary Jane
