No..the Dr. didn't talk about the tumor...just that the surgery won't be difficult.

Mary Ann it is very understandable that you would feel down once in a while. This has been a long health road for Cheyenne with many hills, valleys and curves. I think you were preparing yourself for another trek up a big hill and then the slippery road had you sliding back down again. That is why we are all here to help you through those times and if we can push Cheyenne up this big hill with you. This is just another curve.

Hugs to you, your family and Miss Cheyenne.

I can see why you are in panic state, but we need to get the breathing evaluated first.

On the bronchodilator, I had really good success giving this to my horse. She had several bouts of pneumonia before I bought her and her lungs were all scared up. In horses with breathing problems the develop this really thick ridge muscle at the end of the ribs from trying to work everything so hard to breath. My horse had that, but after giving her the Aminophylline that went away and she had an easier time breathing and less coughing. Just thought I would share my experience with this Med.

Mary Ann, I know it is hard right now, but Cheyenne has made it this far another week or two should be ok. The surgeon just wants to make sure what he does isn't going to tip her over the edge. It is difficult waiting, but your surgeon wants the best out come.

Cheyenne is so much stronger now than when she first cam to you. Have faith in her and the Drs.

Mary Ann - I don't have anything to add beyond what Val has already said. I just want you to go back to page 1 of this thread, look at the date and look at Chey's picture. Look how FAR you have brought her! hugging

I think this needs to be bolded...

You have done so much for her and like what Val said, one thing at a time.

Mary Ann,

I would be horrified with that growth on Chey also. It's like some fairy tale with the snow covered garden and the troll beneath. Now I understand your questions about a sling or something for this dear dog to move without more injury.

I have no answers, February 8 is a long way away. I just am so proud to have any relation to people like you. You accomplish so much for such deserving souls.

Every day with you must be paradise for Chey.

MJ

Well...the Dr. sure knows his stuff...and we've back slid into bad breathing again. Can I vent and say...it's almost like nails on a chalkboard? I dwell on every breath. Not that I'm annoyed with her...NEVER...but that urgent feeling to PLEASE GET BETTER....and feeling helpless.

We were at -17 this morning and I cringe even sending her out to potty. It's a quick in and out. I know our house is dry...we have humidifiers going. Wondering if weather..cold...dryness.. is exacerbating things...

Made a big pot of chicken soup...and praying to get under control. At least stable until we see this internist...and hopefully some answers...

Despite everything...SHE has not changed at all...still playing...eating...acting her same old self. I cringe when she runs up the steps...runs around after Ava in the yard playing....

Do you think it's related to the weather? Haley's asthma is! The cold triggers hers!
