No, not SchH tracking books. Those I know. smile I have a friend that wants to learn more about tracking, specifically AKC style tracking. I recommended the SchH tracking books I like, but know very few of the others written. I own "Scent" for SAR and tracking dogs and "Following Ghosts: Developing the Tracking Relationship". What others are out there?

Thank you

Sil Sander's "Enthusiastic Tracking" is a good starter book. The Dogwise website has a good selection of tracking books as well.

Can alos look at PAwmark, which is AKC Tracking Judge, Ed Presnall's site. Ed sells dog supplies, including harnesses and lines and tracking books.

I got Ed Presnall's 'Mastering Variable Surface Tracking', and it turned out to be the main book I use. I train on my own so the lesson plans, detailed explanations and the workbook are very helpful for me. Ed's approach fits my training style, though, so it may not be for everyone.

Thank you. I will pass these along. Not a total beginner, but definitely a novice. She failed her first TD yesterday so is feeling frustrated. She has been working with a tracking judge, but has not been happy with the treatment she has received. She is enjoying the tracking and time with her dog. I told her that she needs to start searching for information and learning on her own
