I hope I can ask this question and make sense. My husband is reading rumors of an iPad3 and he's already lusting after it. If he upgrades, I would inherit his iPad and would probably sell my netbook. But the deal breaker would be if I can't use the forum with the iPad easily. Don has told me about a Forum app called Tapatalk . Apparently it's just something a forum can enable or disable. Does this forum have Tapatalk enabled? How do other people use the forum via their mobile devices? I've seen it on my husband's iPhone4S, and frankly it's kind of un-usable. Does anyone use an iPad to use the forum?

Sorry, I don't have an iPad but I do cruise the forum from my blackberry often. The only problem is when I try to post a new topic or go to the full reply screen. I cannot see beyond the first couple words that I type. I can use the quick reply though.

Leah, we don't have Tapatalk installed. But since SD (our Techie SD)is now the main person on writing code since UBB changed hands, he did talk about working on this for the next Version upgrade. That will hopefully be in the next couple of months.
More than a year ago I requested some thing for mobile, but the way the whole forum was written it didn't seem that the past owner was interested in fixing the mess he created over the years. So when the new owner looked at all the feature requests he knew major upgrades were going to be a while. Shortly after that he enlisted SD to be the main coder, and SD has been working on changes to make it UBB better, more secure, faster on load times.
So there will be something in the lets say near future.

How do you upload pics using the iPad, do you have to use photobucket?

I often read the boards with an iPad, sometimes post messages like I am now, but I wouldn't want it to be my only Internet connection since it has some limitations. Perhaps some of the limitations are of my own making since i'm still learning. I still use my PC a lot. HATE the keyboard being split into three separate parts. DELETE is a real pain in the backside since I can only delete right to left and either can't, or haven't learned to delete left to right. The mass options for delete are a pain too. But I still like the iPad even though it's limited.

Agree 100% with Gayle. I much prefer my laptop to my IPad2 - it's way more versatile. The IPad is great in a pinch, but I wouldn't want it to be my only access to anything. I don't like touch screens because I can only type with two fingers. With my laptop, I have awireless keypad, so I can fly through typing because I can use all fingers! Okay, so that's the "old" way of doing things, but it's just better for me. Going back and forth to different screens drives me crazy on the Ipad or my Droid phone. It's really hard to teach this old dog new tricks!!

You know, that is my fear about an iPad too. I like the tactile sensation of using a keyboard, and I know there is a steep learning curve switching over to a tablet. Don is really enthusiastic about his, but he's not one to type out long posts on a forum either. I've watched him type e-mails, and it seems like a slow process. I type with only three or four fingers. I wonder if that will help me? So how do you iPad users post photos to this forum?
