Is there a knock wood icon? I definitely need it. It seems Miss Holly may have finally picked out her new home. Her old threads to refresh your memory: http://germanshepherdhome.net/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/203809/Holly_sigh#Post203809http://germanshepherdhome.net/forum/ubbt..._Dog#Post180354We had a wonderful adopter contact us. Single, recently retired, lots of property without immediate neighbors and very rarely has visitors. She has had GSDs and GSD mixes but wasn't going to have another dog after her last one passed away until her son sent her Holly's listing. Jean (and no, it isn't our Jean here but that would have been nice!) came and visited Holly at our training place. Holly had the best reaction to her than any other person by far and Jean was very comfortable with Holly. We had a couple of other meetings including one where Jean walked Holly while I was with them. Holly has a bad habit of throwing a fit if anyone takes her leash from me and I was very impressed with how Jean handled it. She even took Holly home for an hour alone as a test. I had to go away for the weekend starating Fri afternoon and so we asked Jean if she wanted to take Holly as a test run. It is now Tuesday night and Holly has not yet been returned. There was a minor issue yesterday where Holly wouldn't go into her crate. It was a new Kong crate where the doors slide up and down which we think was freaking her out. Jean went out and got a whole new crate last night. So far so good again today. My two partners are going over on Thur to have a training session with Holly and Jean and we will schedule several more of these (all included as part of the adoption). I won't be participating for Holly's peace of mind (and so I don't cry!). We talked to Jean on Sunday when I returned and she just sounds so happy to have Holly around. Holly is enjoying her big yard and her one on one time and has never showed even an ounce of attitude or aggression toward Jean. I miss Holly very much but I am so happy for both her and Jean and so very hopeful that things continue to go well.

Oh such good news!!! I SO hope this works out for Jean and Holly! Paws are crossed here. To think I once suggested PTS might be an option for her. Goes to show there is a place for every dog!

KNOCK WOOD! You know, those Jeans are so good with these kinds of dogs. Jean Donaldson and her Chows...okay, that's all I got right now! Seriously, this is great. Kathy, it's true, and something you learn in rescue, there does seem to be someone for almost every dog. If a foster home can't handle a dog's behavior or health, that's when you say probably not, but if the foster can, and is good at it like Jamie has been and can help not only match someone up, but help the adopter after...the dog has hope. And sometimes, I stand at Meet and Greet and look at dogs and think who in the heck would want that dog?!!? Usually a Boxer or something like that, just...so opposite of my kind of dog, and then the foster forwards the giddy letter from the dog's adopter, saying how life is so much better now with that dog in their life.

Wow I really hope that Jean and Holly are meant to be together. Maybe that is what Holly was waiting for, her very own special person.
