We are planning on getting new furniture - finally - and wonder if I could get some recommendations on fabric type that holds up to our GDSs hair & nails. Right now we have a velour and it's fine but I'd like to get microfiber and wonder how hard/easy it is to get the fur off. Open to suggestions and pictures. THANKS!!!!

Leather has held up very well here. I do cover the couch because a seam is ripping (from Max doing the zoomies and pouncing on it...it's an old couch!), but when it's not covered, it hasn't been a problem.

In the other room is the "nice" leather couch. Only Indy was allowed up there, and that held up well, and easy to wipe down the dander, and get any shedding fur off of.

My rocking chair is microfiber, not sure what material the couch is but it is almost like the same. With the dogs hair on the couch and cat hair on the chair, I use my hand broom (the long brush that comes with it's own dust pan) and brush it right off. Plus to the best of my knowledge microfiber is super easy to clean off-just wipe off with a clean towel. No stains on my furniture with 4 animals all over it.

I had a leather couch once and could not keep the dog hair from under the cushions. Hated that thing.

Our couch and chair is microfiber. I just vacuum it, have no problems getting the fur off. Like Bev said, easy to keep clean, no stains here either!

Yup same here, two couches and no problems even with the cat hair. And the odd time Molly will race inside and jump on the couch with muddy feet, it wipes off cleanly (So Brad never knows! smile )

We have microfiber upstairs and leather downstairs. The hair comes off both easily and neither have stains. The only downside to the microfiber is that it gets wet from drippy lips, muddy paws, or chew toys and that could possibly stain.

I have microfiber and leather combined. Absolutely love it. Wipe off the leather and brush of the microfiber. It has been treated (can't remember with what; guess Scotchguard is passe), so there are virtually no stains, even from spilled soda, wine, coffee...

I love microfiber. It's easy to get the hair off and easy to clean off too. If I noticed any staining (or drool marks--Risa used to nap on mine all day), it was easy to remove with just some 50/50 vinegar and water.

We have microfiber, and it's held up well to the kids. Ember isn't allowed on it, but her hair finds its way up there anyway, and I haven't had trouble getting it off at all.

I LOVE my leather couches. I bought them nearly 10 years ago and they're still holding up fine, after Rocky and Cash and Kopper and Lord knows how many foster dogs.

Our leather has held up and actually I put the only mark on it with a pair of jeans that lost a stud button, lost the button part, so it was a sharp hunk of metal. Still it did not rip the couch. I have a chenille couch, I keep it covered, doesn't hold up great, but it's only an Ashley furniture thingy. I have a microfibre ottoman, love it, easy to clean, except it is a light beige and has a stain from Dolly drool I have to get at.
