It's been a while since I've posted here smile For the past few weeks we've had a girlfriend of mine living with us. Her husband deployed in Jan and she deploys in Feb so we told her to live with us for the month wait. She's awesome - cleans up after herself, helps cook etc. Recon adores her ... well at least I thought he did.

She gets home from work before us and always takes Recon on a walk. Up until last week he wouldn't poop on his walks with her. Last week he decided to poop in someone's driveway ... Odd I thought. This is the dog who will only poop in grass in my experience. Oh well I figured he maybe just really had to go.

Until last night ... She was texting me pictures of him on her bed and he looked happy. Then I got a text of a pile of poop ON HER BED! Apparently while they were laying on the bed together he stood up and went poop. I couldn't belive it!

Recon has pooped a total of three times inside our house in his life. Once when he was a baby and we were still learning his "potty signs" (our fault). And once about a year ago we came home to diahreah all over the place - poor boy was sick and you could tell he just couldn't hold it. And the third time was last night!

What would make him poop on someones' bed?? I'm wondering if he doesn't actually like her? I was shocked. She said she had just walked him and he had gone pee a few times but no poop.

I'm not sure what to make of it. Very strange for Recon.

Very strange! Some kind of miscommunication between them? Is she a dog person? She knows not to interrupt the poopy dance right? Maybe she's just not seeing his signs that show he needs to go, and he's not being assertive enough. I'm totally guessing here.

Is it possible that it is a fake pile and she's just playing a joke on you? I know Kaiser, probably like Recon, would normally choose to burst instead of going in the house, let alone on someone's bed - very strange. Or maybe she's not as fond of Recon as she appears to be and is trying to get him in trouble - maybe she brought a pile in from outside or even used her own - ok, that's gross, but who knows!

Thanks for the thoughts - she is totally a dog person! She has a pitbull that's currently in VA for the deployment. It still is so weird to me ... We've told her not to let Recon on her bed.

Hmmm.makes me wonder if Recon smells her dog on her clothes? A jacket maybe that she might throw on the bed?

He could smell it, not see and be marking "his" territory or even trying to claim your friend from the 'other dog.'. Confusing to him, perhaps.

Not sure about not peeing on the walks, except that Skye can be that way. She will go on leash when I am with her, but not for others. It actually took her forever to even go anyplace except our own back yard.

Miscommunication. She does not understand him. I say this because I had a pup that I had just let in acting like she wanted to go out. I said "you were just out there. show me what you need." Show me she did. She needed to go out to finish up.

I had something happen years ago with Sandi. Gf of mine, Sandi knew since puppyhood... One day Sandi pooped on the pillow on the bed where the girl was staying at my house. Never knew why, never did it again.
