Well last night we had another misplaced doggie adventure. We were out walking on one of the trails near my house when a gorgeous male red Siberian husky appeared out of nowhere. He approached the dogs in a rather obnoxious way (trying to hump each of them) and Rafi tends to be a little iffy with pushy males that are his size or bigger so I backed the dog off and told him to go away. I was yelling at him rather loudly and assumed that whoever owned him would hear me and call him (this is a fairly big area and we were up on a high trail) but that didn't happen. So Rafi spent an hour sort of playing with him (which involved a lot of loud growling, facing off and Rafi racing around trying to avoid being humped while Kailor bit the dog's butt) while we walked around looking for his owners. Finally I leashed him up and looped the leash around his neck for extra protection and we walked over to a pay phone (of course neither of us had our phones with us) and called his owners. Actually, I did not walk...I was dragged across the parking lot while Dexter continued to try to get to Rafi (who was off leash and tormenting Dexter by coming close and then dashing away. I finally yelled at Rafi to walk behind me and made it to the phone in one piece. It was 10:30 at night, about 8 degrees with the wind chill and it turned out he had pushed the front door open and taken off and they had been out looking for him for several hours. Dexter was clearly well cared for and they were very relieved when we called. He was glad to see them but I think sorry to leave his new "friends"--he continued to nip and bark at Rafi while his owners first dragged and then carried him away! After they left Rafi went nuts. He looked like Snoopy doing his happy dance. I think he was worried we were going to take Dexter home and then he would have Dexter and the kittens. We didn't get back home until 11:15pm and we were all very tired but happy knowing Dexter was home safe and sound. Years ago I thought I would like to have a husky but luckily realized they were not the right dogs for me: beautiful but way too independent for my tastes!

Good job!!! Typical Sibe opening a door like that. Kayto is probably one of the few who has never attempted an escape.

Definitely! Kudos to Rafi and Kailor for putting up with a crazy Sibe! LOL on the owner carrying Dexter. Sometimes it's just easier!

Rafi was very cute when he was bugging Kailor: he would race over there, jump up and down while growling and waving his ball and race away so that Dexter followed him. I was nervous that Rafi would be limping last night or this morning but thankfully he was ok. They played for about an hour and Rafi couldn't even rest b/c Dexter was jumping on top of him!

It's lovely to read a happy ending Poor Rafi, that really would be a lot, Dexter and the kittys!
