that was something i had to work on. being less predictable and so B O R I N G !! videoing helped me see what so many had been seeing. debbie, you have a video camera. video yourself. i bet you will see a lot of things you didnt know you were doing. it will show you when your timing is off for rewards and corrections. you will se when you did not follow through on a command, you will see when your dog gets bored or engaged. video is an invaluable tool. whether you like to see yourself or not it does not lie!

you can video yourself. ido that almost exclusivly. if you wait for someone to video you ... you will not do it. and you will not be you either. set it somewhere safe. it will take a few minutes to set up your "area". i use cones to mark my "in the videoo" area. one on the right one on the left and make sre everything is done in between. you dont need close up s or zooming in ... you will see everything you need to helpyou improve.

Good thread!
As guardian/protectors, GSD's are not the best at handling SEC's, they tend to react to things that change fast. Much is instinctive and we have bred them to be that way. That is part of what makes them so good at what they do. But when it goes over board it is a problem. Much of Havoc's control issues stem from him getting over excited and not able to control it, and he blows too. He blows in screaming, yodeling and grabbing me. All that energy has to go somehere.
Hope you guys continue to improve!
