Anyone have experience with the DT Systems brand of training collars? I just bought a collar of theirs at Bass Pro Shops, the Micro IDT. It's an upgrade from what I have now, which is a Petsafe collar that is pretty much exactly the same as the Sport Dog 400 (even looks exactly the same, are they made by the same company?), 8 levels with a 400 yard range, water proof. It has served my needs well, but I always wanted a little bit more room with the levels. The recessed buttons on the transmitter have come apart a bit, but everything else has held up.
The Micro iDT is 16 levels, 900 yard range, waterproof, with a nick, continuous, and vibrate. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this brand and what they think of it.

I have the Dogtra 1900 and couldn't be happier with it. It has 'nick, continuous and vibrate', waterproof, 1/2 mile range and is very durable. I have had it for awhile now and use it quite a bit and have yet to have any sort of problems with it. Worth the money for sure.

from what I researched, DT systems is the second oldest collar company. I honestly dont need all the levels of some of the higher end collars. I like the idea of being able to jump from Shane's working level to a higher level quickly in case of something like him chasing an animal. I could program the Petsafe Collar to have one button be his working level, then the other button would be a "boost", it would administer a stim 2 levels up from whatever the first button was. With 16 levels, I think I can turn the dial quickly to his "boost" level (the higher level that will get his attention when in high distraction) without going over that stim level by accident.
The problem I had with his old collar was I had plenty of medium to high levels, but not enough low levels. I tried the DT systems collar and I didnt feel anything till level 6, with the Petsafe collar, there was a noticable jump from level 1 to 2 for me, So i could never really utilize the low levels for things like tightening up his heeling or fixing the problem of him slamming into me on recalls. It was good for getting his attention when he is "fixed" on something distracting, but not when we are quietly working alone together. I hope with the more lower levels of this new collar we can work on some of those things.

I also have a Dogtra 1900 (well actually a 1902, which means I have two receivers). We also have a cheaper Innotek collar. I love the 1900. The flexibility of subtle changes in intensity is unparalleled. www.mightypets.com has great prices on e-collars.
