They will usually self limit if they are off leash but I think I would hold it to no more than a mile for a few more weeks.

At that age I was doing 2-3 miles with Kopper. He was just starting to get tired towards the end. He'd go home, nap for a while, and then be ready to go again.

Little determined workingline Czech baby tanks. I'm not sure I have an answer. His brain is processing a lot during those jaunts, lots of different fascinating textures, intriguing surfaces, scents, sounds, and walking with his pack and packleader. Drivey pups can be greedy for more fun stimulating stuff, and get caught up in the thrills, even if they are starting to tire. Little tough guys like Finn may not rest and slow down when they need to, as much as a more sensitive puppy from different lines might. So, I'd say to enjoy your hikes, but calling it a day before he shows signs of being tired might be a good idea. I love Finn's pictures!

Thank you very much for the responses. Patti, you must know my dogs so well:-) Oh I forgot, you have one of those Czech's Loki is the biggest tracker I have ever seen, and Finn seems to follow. I noticed that both my Czechs are more quiet and serious then Jasper ever was, but they carry a big stick when need be. I started using a pedometer today, so I can get a better indicator. I think you all had great ideas and suggestions, thank you all so much:-)

Medo would let us know. He'd lay down and whine a little. When he did, we'd turn around and sllllowly walk back to the car. I bet 1-2 miles at around 10-12 weeks. So by 16 I woudl think he could go a little longer.
